Seeking nominations for USNA Women’s SIG Leadership
Are you interested in making a difference for alumnae of the US Naval Academy? Would you be willing to assume a leadership position with the USNA Women’s Shared Interest Group (SIG)?
We are looking for new leadership for the USNA Women’s SIG to keep connecting our 2,300+ members with each other, to the Alumni Association, and to other similar organizations.
The USNA Women’s SIG was created in 2017 with the mission of:
providing a platform for alumnae, alumni, and interested members of the USNA community to address issues of particular concern to women;
increasing and strengthening the presence and leadership of women within the Naval Academy, the Naval Service, and the communities within which we live and work;
providing opportunities for alumnae mentoring and networking.
The Women’s SIG is soliciting nominations for individuals interested in advancing this mission. Individuals need not be a USNA graduate or a woman to be a part of the USNA Women’s SIG, but they do need to have an interest in actively supporting issues important to USNA Women.
Nominations are being accepted for elected positions, including President and Vice President (3-year terms each) as well as Secretary, Treasurer, and Outreach (2-year terms each).
The Nomination committee is also soliciting interest from individuals seeking to fill Board-appointed positions, including Communications, Webmaster, Regionals Chairs, Fundraising, Philanthropy, and liaison officers to the Sisterhood of Mother B, Naval Academy Women’s Network (NAWN), and other SIGs like Naval Academy Minority Association (NAMA) and Run to Honor.
Elections will be held in February 2021, with new officers to be seated March 1, 2021.
