The Columbus Chapter Leadership

President Dave Goins class of 1984

Dave served in the Supply Corps for eight years following graduation. Upon leaving the Navy, he settled in the Columbus area where he had met his wife, Teresa, while on shore duty. Since 1993, he has worked with a number of families overseeing their financial affairs. He previously served as a Blue and Gold Officer and is Chair of the Memorial Health Foundation Board of Directors. Dave and Teresa have two grown children.

 

Vice President  Kevin Johnson class of 1983

Kevin was a member of 28th company and majored in Chemistry.  He spent six years on active duty in the Marine Corps before transitioning to medical sales profession.  Kevin currently resides in Westerville with his wife Gina.

 

Secretary/Shipmate Coordinator Montisola Bowman class of 1995

Motisola Bowman was a member of the 25th company. She retired as a Captain from the Human Resources community. Upon retiring she became a funeral director. Motisola currently resides in Westerville with her husband George.

Treasurer Jim Waddell class of 1971

Jim graduated with a degree in Physics and spent 4-1/2 years on active duty as part of the Naval Special Warfare community. After leaving the Navy, he obtained an MBA from The Ohio State University and had a 30-year career in commercial banking. Jim and his wife, Debby, live in Grandview Heights and two grown daughters.

 

Board Member (1960’s-1970’s) Jim Worthington class of 1960

Graduated from USNA in 1960 as a member of the 19th Company.  Served on active duty for 28 years in both Submarines and Surface Warfare.  Upon retiring from the Navy, worked as a program manger in Undersea Systems for Battelle in Columbus, OH.  Resides in Worthington, OH with wife Sara and has two sons Jimmy and Tommy.

 

Board Member (1980’s-1990’s) Todd Forney class of 1986

Todd was a member of Fifth Company and graduated in 1986. He served as a surface warfare officer on active duty and the reserves until 1997. Todd received his PhD from Ohio State and works in financial services. He and his wife Maureen live in Powell.

 

 

Board Member (2000’s-2100’s) Michel Plumley class of 2009

Michel was a member of 10th Company, graduating in 2009 with a degree in Economics. He served 7 years as a submarine officer, tours included division officer on USS VIRGINIA (SSN 774) as well as a special projects officer in Washington, D.C. Following active duty, he obtained an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently a senior manager at PwC – Global Technology. Michel lives in Columbus, OH with his wife Julia and two sons.
